Here's Allyson and Trenton after they got their faces painted. They were wearing my uniforms from when I went to the desert in 2005.

This is what we call a mission briefing. Basically the kids get briefed on what they were going to do and what "shots" they needed to get. They received dog tags, their Bibles and other things to put in their deployment bags.

Allyson in the co-pilot seat.

...and Trenton!!

Trenton got a kick out of these seats. I have to tell you, they are the most uncomfortable things in the world. Imagine sitting in those for 12+ hours to get anywhere overseas.

This is the Boom Pod of the plane. The kids got to lay down in it and watch on a laptop what it looks like to refuel another plane. Trenton did NOT want to leave this area, but it so cramped.

The "flight" had to report to the commander of "Camp McConnell". They even had to salute him. It was the funniest and cutest thing in the world.

Allyson "broke" her wrist on the "deployment" and had to get transported to the MED Tent. They wrapped her up and carried her away.

Then you have to learn how to put a fire out or put yourself out if you catch on fire. Trenton actually walked up to Sparky this time and gave him a high five.

This is actually the children in gas masks and Trenton has on a vest with bullet proof plates in it. The plates alone weigh about 35lbs and there are 2-3 in each vest. I think there was only one in this vest. This was the funniest thing ever...seeing the kids in these gas masks.

Then the kids had to learn how to fire "weapons". In this case, they used water guns and tried to get their balloon down to the other end of the rope and tried to "shoot" and "kill" the bad guy. They succeeded and Trenton was more worried about his balloon, his made it all the way down. I don't really know what to think about that...is he determined or does he have good aim...makes me a little worried.

Trenton is concentrating!!!
The Patriot Guard of the local area escorted the buses back when the kids returned from the "deployment". It was the coolest thing I have seen. The kids had a blast and hopefully got a sense of what we go through when we leave for a deployment.
