Terry's surgery

Just to update everyone on the status of Terry's surgery. Things went well, they cleaned his meniscus out without having to remove any bone and they said it turned out great. They also removed the hardware (screw) that was attaching his ACL to his bone. It does not serve a purpose after the healing process of ACL surgery (which was over 9 years ago for Terry). Sometimes you just leave it in and it will never cause a problem although serving no purpose, but in Terry's case they think it was causing him more problems than it was anything. They think that's what was causing him a lot of pain along with the meniscus. He woke up fairly well, drank some coke (yes they give them coke to settle their stomach) and ate some crackers, then he had to go to the bathroom before he could leave. He doesn't remember any of this obviously, but I filled him in last night when anthesia started to wear off. He moved downstairs this morning so that he could play his video games and is eating what he can...he gets very nausiated. Monday he starts physical therapy for about 4-6 weeks. They gave us pictures of the surgery (yes pictures of inside his knee) and a CD containing what we think is a video of the surgery...haven't checked it out yet, and we have the screw that was in his bone. He has three layers of stitches, one of which he will get removed on the 22nd. I have pictures of him after I got him home...I will post at a later time.

I am doing fine! Tired but fine! I slept half on the small couch last night and then moved to the bed, but still didn't sleep well. Everytime I heard Terry get up, I woke up. Although he's moving around pretty well with either one or both of his crutches, I still guide him sometimes. I get his food and his meds and fluff his pillows for him. I kinda like it...being needed!! Payback is a **bleep** and he's got about 5 weeks to get up and running. HAHA::))

VERY glad to hear that Terry's surgery went well! If he is in so much pain, surgery was definitely the best option. They just did a study in Sweden, where for long term betterness, surgery is always the best option.

A video of the surgery?? :)) How weird is that?? :)) Do you plan on watching it? I could watch it, but Fredrik never could, he can't handle anything.

I have a feeling you are tired! (All of you.) Terry having his surgery and you and Lillie fighting for tummy space. ;) Probably not the best time for the surgery, but I know Terry will get better and feel better and that will be so much more helpful and health-wise for the future.

I love Lillie's name too. :)
So it was Trenton that officially named her? :)
