Happy Birthday Lillie Elizabeth Grace McDonald!! On Dec 29 at 2216 (10:16p) Lillie came into this world weighing in at 7lbs 9oz and 18.5" long. Here are some pictures of her first 24 hours.
Terry holding her for the first time, he's always been the first person to hold his children. He cut the cord, they cleaned her off and handed her to him.
Right before her first bath.
Her first bath...actually getting her hair washed for the first time. They bathed her out of a bucket of soapy water and then rinsed her hair off in the sink. I find it amazing that she's not throwing a fit in this picture seeing that she screamed when they bathed her with the soapy water.
Moved into recovery. Recovery is down the hall from labor and delivery. The recovery rooms are nice with queen size beds for the parents. We moved there about 2 hours after delivery. Not the best picture of me...but what can I say, I just gave birth to a 7lb 9oz baby and had back labor. Yes everything they say about back labor is true!!
Fast asleep after a hard days work!!
I will say it wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done, but everything went well and we are both healthy. Being 3 weeks early, we have to thank God that everything went well and she's healthy and at home with us. I will post more later.
