Update!!

I wanted to give everyone an update. Lillie got admitted to the hospital on Thursday (1 Jan) for Jaundice. We were warned that she was at a higher risk for it because she's 3 wks early, so we were watching for it. We decided she looked too orange and took her to the clinic and her levels were at 19.1. I'm not sure what all that means but 20 is where they don't want them to be and if they reach that level then it requires light therapy. Well we could've gotten a light blanket at home, but the home health place was not making home visits on New Years Day...but they were open????...very frustrating. So the Dr admitted us to the hospital and when we got here her levels were 20.1. So she's been under lights since yesterday afternoon, feeding (breast feeding) every 2 hrs and pooping/peeing a lot...which is what we want. They draw her blood every 8 hrs to check the bilirubin levels and as of this morning they are down to 17.2. They say 11-12 is normal, but they have sent babies home with levels of 14-15.

There is really nothing to worry about, something that can and does happen often, just very frustrating that we are back in a hospital and she's only 4 days old. She's doing very well, sleeping in her incubator and feeding very well. I'm staying here at the hospital with her and Terry and Trenton come up during the day. We are praying for a fast recovery (hopefully today) so we can go home tonight. After the treatment, everything is good with nothing to worry about later. Please pray that she's able to go home soon.
