We got today's number...13.6, the lowest that her bilirubin level has been since this whole thing has started. They had us discontinue the biliblanket and take it back to the home health company. The Dr is hoping that this is the end and it will just keep going down from here. The Dr has no intention on rechecking her, we are just supposed to keep an eye on her color.
She's still congested, but if we suck her nose out then she's good for nursing. We learned a trick today in waking her up to eat...flicking the bottom of her feet. The nurse at her Dr's office used to work in Labor and Delivery and they would flick the bottom of the babies feet to get them to cry. Lillie does not like it and starts crying and then we're able to wake her up and she'll eat. It's actually funny, but sounds cruel.

Fantastic!! :)
Don't worry.. we had to do the same to Leia. She wouldn't open her mouth for her bottle unless she was crying.. :/ so we would have to irritate her in some way to make her start to cry and then plop the bottle in her mouth and then she was fine. It does sound cruel doesn't it ?? But you have to do what you have to do!
